Cold enough air has moved back in to support some snow showers across parts of Southern New England early this morning with a few flakes flying south of the Pike, especially across Southeast Massachusetts. We’ll watch for a few slick spots across Bristol County, Plymouth County and the Cape as a coating to 1/2″ of snow drops. Near the south coast, some patchy freezing drizzle mixes in too. The precip won’t last long as we dry out after 8-9am. A lot of sunshine wins out too midday into the afternoon, allowing for a solid January day overall with temps in the low 40s.

It’ll be seasonable and dry Tuesday and Wednesday with temps in the mid to upper 30s for highs.

Thursday, clouds thicken and some rain and snow showers break out in the afternoon, into the evening. Rain chances go up Thursday night and a soaking rain is likely again Friday with gusty winds and temps near or above 50 as the storm track yet again leaves us on the milder side. Rain and snow showers are possible on Saturday as the storm is slow to completely exit.
