BOSTON (WHDH) - Widespread, heavier showers are closing in on us as I write this blog.  For the rest of this evening, it’s a good idea to have the rain-gear with you – if you’re heading out for a little Friday night FUN.  It looks like scattered showers will be with us through midnight tonight, with some embedded (short-lived) downpours.  Don’t let these drops get you down, though.  We’re NOT in for a repeat of last week!  In fact, this cool-front that’s moving through, bringing the showers tonight, is quick-moving and doesn’t have much “cool” air behind it.  The weekend forecast is looking pretty good…

Though, Saturday will likely “out-shine” Sunday.  After the wet weather wraps up tonight, even the clouds clear out for a bright Saturday sunrise.  With the sunshine expected to stick around for most of Saturday, high temps will climb into the mid 70s!  By evening, clouds will be moving back into the picture… threatening the chance of showers once again… and possibly even a rumble of thunder, or two.  For now though, I expect the Saturday showers to hold off until the later evening hours; say, 10-11pm.  This shower activity comes with another cold front, but this one DOES have cooler air behind it.

Sunday features mostly cloudy skies, and a slight chance of scattered showers… but it will also be noticeably cooler – and windy.  Temperatures will top out in the mid 50s to around 60°.  This is a chilly shot of air that moves in to stay for Sunday and Monday.

Sunshine returns on Tuesday, and temps are back up into the mid to upper 60s!  Plus, the rain showers we were tracking for Wednesday are looking like they may stay to our south… which means, next week could once again be rain free and seasonable!  -Breezy
