The Holiday season is in overdrive this week and the last thing we need is a disruptive storm. Thankfully, the next 3 days here in New England offer dry roads but by Thursday night and into Friday we are greeted with a sizeable storm. This storm will be large and because of that we have a of of confidence in the storm track. That storm track will be across the upper Midwest and into south central Canada. A storm track like that all but guarantees a rain storm for the region. Rather than try to explain the whole country’s weather (for travelers) here are snapshots for the midday hour each day Tuesday-Friday…
Thursday-Friday will be the most disruptive, Friday in particular, for the nation. Plan on major air disruption from this storm, especially for Midwest airports. You probably also notice numbers on those maps….those are temperatures and look at the bitter air sweeping across the country behind the storm. That bitterly cold air finds its way to New England (after the storm) on Saturday and Sunday. Christmas Eve & day look cold for the region, likely our coldest since 2013!
