Cold enough for you? In Boston, the 17 degrees we hit this morning is the coldest start to the day since our 14 back on March 13th. With the cold air entrenched across New England, some southern New England towns did hit the single digits this morning and even some below zero reading across central and northern New England.
Temps slowly warm through the day to the mid 20s to low 30s by mid afternoon as sunshine gets dimmer and dimmer with increasing clouds on the way in. Those clouds, foreshadow the flakes that will fly as some snow starts to break out between 5-7pm south and west of the Boston Metro area, and between 7-8pm from Boston to the NH Seacoast. While it won’t be a big storm for us, some steady snow between 7pm -1am will be good enough to coat the untreated roads and even add up to 1-3″ for Southeast Mass. Pretty much the same locations that saw the 1-3″ of snow yesterday, see another 1-3″ this evening. Keep the evening plans, just take your time and watch out for some slick spots on the roads.
The snow is long gone by tomorrow morning, but a busy breeze with gusts 20-30mph will aid it making it feel chilly with highs in the low to mid 30s and winds around 20. I can’t rule out a few flurries or passing afternoon snow shower to the northwest, but much of the day is dry. Sunday looks cold and dry too with highs around 30 and lighter winds.
While there’s no big warm-up in sight, temps do briefly hit the 40s, on Tuesday, before going back into the 30s on Wednesday.
Have a good day and a great weekend!
