The plot thickens, as the drought deepens… the Drought Monitor for the area now expanding “moderate drought conditions” farther west, into Worcester.  Once again, we’re missing out on much needed rainfall, with another system zipping by to our south.  All of this information leads me to the title of this blog:  “Need vs. Want.”  We NEED the rain, but most of us don’t WANT the rain – especially during a summer weekend.  Your lawn NEEDS the rain and WANTS the rain… but you may feel differently when you’re able to soak up some sunshine at the beach this weekend.  If you loved last weekend, you’ll love this weekend as well.  Warm and dry conditions are with us, once again, for both Saturday and Sunday.  The one catch is that coastal temps will be cooler; likely topping out in the 70s each day.

Once the clouds clear out tonight, temps will cool into the 50s again – comfortable for opening the bedroom windows and letting the fresh air in!  We’re in for mostly sunny skies again tomorrow, with highs topping out in the low 80s inland, and in the mid to upper 70s for the coast.  Something new I’ve been trying out is what I like to call the “Foodie Forecast.”  It’s for anyone who likes to dine “al fresco.”  If that’s you, then this graphic is for you!  Now, the only question is:  Park or Patio?!

High pressure moves in for the weekend, keeping us nice and dry.  80s inland, cooler coast, humidity in check.  There’s not much to talk about in the Weather Department besides the lack of rain.  So, when is the next chance for any of that “much needed rain?”  Looks like things get muggy on Tuesday, and a front that is expected to move through could fire off some storms and showers.  We’ll continue to watch this, because as you know with storms this time of year – timing is everything.
