Back to the grind on this Monday morning and back to more dry weather as well. Not only do we lack the rain, we’ll lack the muggies the next couple days. Another way to put it, summer perfection is in play with sunshine, low humidity and temps in the mid to upper 80s today and tomorrow. If you plan on hitting the golf course or the beach, it looks like a couple of winners. That low humidity also helps keep temps very comfortable at night with overnight lows in the 50s in the burbs and mid to upper 60s in the city tonight.
Wednesday, the humidity starts to go up and stays up from Thursday into the weekend. It’ll likely feel Florida ish by late week and into the weekend with highs near or above 90 and dewpoints running 70+. That also means warm overnights with lows in the 70s.
How about some much needed rain? There are isolated to scattered storms in the forecast Wednesday and Wednesday night and again Friday into the weekend. While the storm risk is there, we’ll also catch a lot of dry hours with some high heat Thursday – Saturday as temps are near or above 90. The atmosphere will be loaded with moisture (lots of water vapor) so any shower or storm that forms this week or early next week will be capable of locally heavy rain. If we can line up a front and a disturbance or two across southern New England, those downpours will be more widespread versus isolated. While it remains to be seen if that happens, the potential is there either late this weekend or early next week. We’ll shall see.
