From the words of one of my favorite country singers, “rain is a good thing!” Anyone else a Luke Bryan fan? If you got to see him a couple weeks ago here in Boston please know I am super jealous! Also know the green on the radar this morning is a welcome sight! Maybe not for the morning commute, but most definitely for our lawns! Unfortunately as many of the showers tracked east they started to weaken once inside the 495 belt. As of 9 am Worcester had picked up 0.71″, but Boston hadn’t recorded any measurable precipitation. There were a few reports of flooded roads to our west in Springfield where a Flood Advisory was issued earlier, but other than that this has just simply been beneficial rainfall for our area.
As we head into lunchtime I do think showers will become more scattered in nature and any heavier rain will be focused south of the Mass Pike across Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts. For the most part, this afternoon looks mostly dry minus a few isolated spot showers left over. Tee time scheduled after work? I’d keep it!
The forecast looks dry and seasonal Wednesday through the end of the work week as high pressure builds across the region. High temperatures will return to seasonal, too. So, back to the 80s! The rest of the work week looks pleasant and great for any outdoor activities you may have planned. BUT, we really do need more rain! Since June 1 we have only picked up 2.20″ of rain in Boston, which is more than 5″ below where we should be!
There’s a chance we could see some more of this much needed rain Friday night into Saturday… But, it’s still far out so you’ll have to stay tuned!
