Painting a picture of the jet stream (that river of air that flows around the globe dividing warm air from chilly air), it flows out of Canada and across the northeast. It’s been doing this –off & on–for a few weeks now. When it’s *on* you’ll notice two things……wind as well as a lack of heat & humidity. Now, in the dead of winter, this same jet stream configuration delivers some bitterly cold air but this time of year, that air is downright refreshing!
The pattern is with us for much of the week so more of the same on tap in the coming days. Sunshine (mixed with some clouds at times) is in store with daytime highs running up into the 70s. Wednesday, those temps will make a run up near 80 inland but with a sea breeze in order that 70s show will be in play for Boston & the beaches. Thursday will offer more clouds around as a storm passes through Pennsylvania but no rain as the storm is a bit too far away. At this time, Fathers Day weekend looks like a mix of sun & clouds each day with temps in the upper 70s & low 80s. A storm well south of New England may try to toss some clouds & rain up this way on Sunday but at this time, I think that storm is also a bit too far away for any rain…besides, it’s Fathers Day!–Ma Nature wouldn’t do that to us dads…would she?!?!
Enjoy your evening.
