Here’s what it’s feeling like on your way to work:

While we’re not waking up snow, we are still dealing with some icy spots. Many locations are below freezing this morning, and yesterday’s melted snow has refrozen. Otherwise, we’ve got a pretty nice Tuesday forecast, with a brief period of high pressure bringing some sunshine our way. Temperatures will reach close to our average highs in the low-40s, with mid-40s across the Cape & islands. We’ll trend cooler in north central Mass., with highs in the upper-30s.

Our next frontal system pushes in from our south, and tracks off the mid Atlantic. This brings us the chance for some wintry weather mainly west of the 495 loop and north of the Mass. Pike late tonight into early tomorrow morning. This could bring a coating of snow up to 1″ of snow, with the upper end of this range staying NW/N of the Boston area. The Boston metro could see pockets of a wintry mix, but the bulk of our wet weather into tomorrow morning looks to stay as rain. SE Mass., the Cape & the Island are also looking at the chance rain late tonight into tomorrow morning. By the mid-morning we’re largely dry, but we do have the slight chance for some drizzle into the afternoon.

Temperatures take a MAJOR tumble into the end of your workweek, as the coldest air of the season moves in. This blast of arctic air cause significantly below average temperatures Friday through your weekend (and windy conditions will make things feel downright CHILLY).

Enjoy some December sunshine & seasonable temps!
