Checking in with you about 12 hours after my last weather blog, and not much has changed in the forecast. We’re still tracking snow moving in just in time for the Monday morning commute. Mornings can be tough; Monday mornings can be even tougher; Monday morning commutes aren’t any easier… and then you add in some wintery weather to make it even more difficult. Plan ahead for a slow-go tomorrow morning, and be sure to “pack your patience” as I always say.
This is not a big winter storm moving in for us, but really more of a nuisance event because of that Monday morning timing. We’ll be dry through the daylight hours today before snow showers start to work in this evening. Snow becomes widespread around 11pm-midnight. With the cold air already in place (starting out in the single digits for most this morning), it won’t be difficult for the snow to accumulate. I’m sticking with my snow forecast from last night, with maybe the addition of “best chance for 6-inches is over the Berkshires.” Chris Lambert will be in tonight to give you his updated forecast.

Milder air will be working in from the SSE, and gradually change the snow over to rain during the morning hours. However – this does not solve the “slick” problem. Snow that has already accumulated will just turn slushy – and there’s also a chance for some icing as surface temps will be slow to warm. I think the changeover happens for Boston points south between 4am-7am, and for the rest of us by 9-10am. We’re done with all of this snowy/wet weather by mid-day. No concerns here for coastal issues or wind. If you’re going to the Patriots game tomorrow, it will be cold but dry.

Have a good week, and GO PATS! – Breezy
