It was a nice late summer like day out there today with sunshine and temperatures heading back to the 70s after a very chilly first few days of October.
Tomorrow will be another one of those nice late summer days as we head back to the 70s. Tomorrow also bring a small chance of a spot shower, but it really is only like a 10% chance. The small shower chance is as the cold front passes that will put an end to this taste of summer and bring back the fall like temperatures.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the weekend forecast is very nice! We’ll keep the sunshine, but temperatures will get knocked back to about 60 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. In fact whether it’s leaf peeping, apple picking, pumpkin patches, or corn mazes, the weather will put you in the mood for the activities!
Of course with fall like days we have fall like nights. The coldest night in the next several will be Saturday night/Sunday morning. Many of us will dip down to the upper 30s but the higher elevations could deal with some patchy frost. The frost does not look to be widespread by any stretch of the imagination.
But dealing with frost in early October is not anywhere out of the ordinary. In fact, we shouldn’t be talking about frost in the higher elevations, we should be talking about freeze in the higher elevations! On average, the first freeze in most of those areas happens in the first 10 days of October.
