The rain was beneficial, but it came down in buckets at times late yesterday and last evening.  Before it was all said and done, many towns picked up about an inch of water.  Water the lawns and gardens loved to soak up.

In the wake of yesterday’s rain, summer returns for 2 days and 2 days only for this week.  Today and tomorrow highs warm into the middle 80s with a muggy feel to the air.  While we’re dry today with mostly sunny skies, tomorrow is a different story as the chance for a few thunderstorms is there during the afternoon.  Some cold air aloft and a favorable wind profile to the atmosphere may help a few of these storms to be locally strong to severe.  We’ll keep an eye on it.  Not all towns will see the storms, much like those summery patterns, the storms are hit or miss.

More scattered showers and rumbles of thunder zip through Wednesday as the cool down begins.

Cooler weather prevails into the weekend with Saturday likely the better of the 2 days… again. At least that’s how it looks now.  Subject to chance this far out of course.  There’s a chance for an afternoon shower in spots Saturday and a better shower chance with more clouds in the forecast for Sunday.

Have a good week.
