7Weather – You’ll feel the chill in the air this morning! Actual temperatures are below freezing for MetroWest, Merrimack Valley, and Worcester County, but it feels like the teens with the N/NE wind. If you grabbed a thicker coat yesterday, grab it again today.
Temperatures won’t improve all that much in the afternoon as we stay in the 30s with clouds around. A NE breeze lingers along the coast.
Sunday starts out quiet, we’ll end it with some snow showers. A low pressure system will continue working its way out of the Great Lakes and weaken as it approaches us.
A Winter Weather Advisory begins at 10 a.m. for western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut (purple areas below). Expect slick roads as light snow falls accumulates late afternoon into the evening. Far western Mass will accumulate the most snow. Areas west of Highway 128 will see a coating to an 1″ around Worcester County.
Here’s the timeline for the snow…
Light flurries fall by midday for far western Mass. For Worcester County and east, it’s still quiet. Late afternoon/before sunset, the Worcester Hills will start to see some flurries. You could see some flakes around 6 pm for MetroWest. Steadier light snow falls after 6 p.m. The system will taper off overnight and be out of here by the Monday morning commute.
We’re locked in the 30s through midweek. There will be a breeze at times and maybe a Cape shower early Wednesday morning. A storm system could bring rain, snow and wind by Friday.
