Wow! What a day! For those of us who did get some rain, the sunshine wasn’t far behind… and the main weather theme for the day was really “hot and humid” for everyone across the board. Highs hit upper 80s to near 90° and dewpoints were around 70° through much of the day. I mentioned on Twitter earlier this evening that today’s soupy air (that we almost had to swim through) reminded me of my days working in the EPCOT parking lot. Yes, I worked in the EPCOT parking lot. Yes, the one in Florida. No, it wasn’t as fun as it sounds. More on that story another time, preferably with a cold drink in my hand (maybe both hands). Those are some rough memories. #DisneyCollegeProgramDropOut
In any case, if you didn’t see a shower earlier this morning you probably still had some inclination that you might see a storm later on in the day. Maybe you knew storms were coming because you pay attention to the forecast and you read our blogs (thanks for that, by the way). Or maybe you just FELT it in the air. We did get some downpours and storms this evening, but they sure were stingy… Most of us left without a drop – while many areas south of the Mass. Pike were dodging torrential rain with rainfall rates 1-2″+ per hour! Everyone on social media keeps saying “send some rain my way!!” Trust me; we all feel that way. The thing about a drought is no one is left out (I just made that up, but I feel like it works in this context).
Now, on to the forecast. The great news about this cool front that’s sweeping through the area, is that it will sweep out the humidity!! With our drought conditions in mind, it’s BAD news that we’re in for more dry weather. With SUMMER STILL IN SESSION it’s GREAT news that we’re in for more dry weather! Tomorrow is another beauty with lower humidity, mostly sunny skies (a few clouds in the afternoon), and highs in the mid 80s. A great beach day! A great second day for the Pan Mass Challenge!
A great day for #PearlJam at Fenway! I mean, you really “can’t find a better man” than Eddie Vedder.
Humidity stays low, sunshine sticks around, and temps top out in the mid 80s for the first couple of days of next week! After that, the forecast gets REALLY tricky. Full disclosure, I went back and forth several times while putting together my 7day tonight. I took an Uber last night and the driver was talking about how “yous guys are never right!” Which is not only offensive (how rude!) but also wrong (called the showers and storms for today!). BUT – I have to admit that past Wednesday, level of confidence in my forecast drops off quite significantly. But you’re not gonna hate on me for it, because well, we know it’s New England and “anything can happen.” I hope you’re enjoying the Olympics on 7News!!! – Breezy
