We could use the rain, so overall, this is a beneficial event for the lawns, so it’s not all bad news.  Plus, with all the pollen on your car, at least you get a free car wash from Ma Nature!

Ok, I may be trying a little hard to find the silver lining, but on a rainy Sunday forecast, we’ll try to point out the positives.  Let’s get into the deets shall we?

Showers move through this morning, tending to be on the light to moderate side.  We’ll likely catch some lulls around midday in the action, so it’s not impossible to get a couple of dry hours in there.  Questionable if the Sox get in their game, but I will say it may be possible if we can line up enough lulls in the action around early-mid afternoon.  If you’re heading into Fenway, I’d certainly have the rain gear with you.  Temps in Boston hold in the mid 60s.  Temps inland near 70, but overall, it’s not that warm of a day.

Once any lulls in the action move out, showers become more widespread again late today/this evening.  This time, the opportunity is there for locally heavy rain and thunder.  Heavier rain and thunder taper off late tonight, and while I say most the area averages about an 1″ of rain, totals will vary from town to town.  In areas that see tropical-like downpours, a quick 1-2″ of rain may fall in a short period of time, creating localized street flooding. Again, the best chance for this is near/after dinner time.

A fling with summer returns tomorrow before the cooler air prevails mid-late week.  A few afternoon showers and storms may also pop Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.  Bottom line, if this is your week off… best day the lay pool/beach side is tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, perhaps some indoor Spring cleaning today?
