The drop off was dramatic late yesterday afternoon as temps inland dropped from the 60s and 70s, back into the 40s fairly quickly once that northeast breeze kicked in.

This morning, we go back the other way as the west to southwest wind kicks in. Temps warm into the 60s to lower 70s by mid afternoon. While a few spotty showers will be in the mix, we’ll also catch a few breaks of sun. Late-day winds do go back to the northeast, and we’ll start dropping the temps again from east to west.

Showers run through this evening and become more widespread late overnight/predawn tomorrow. The steadiest rain tapers off tomorrow morning, however, the chillier air locks in for the day. Temps flatline in the upper 30s and lower 40s with a cloudy sky winning out.

Friday starts damp and dreary and chilly, however, we’ll see improvements through the day. In the afternoon, winds turn back south, allowing for milder air to move in. Clouds breaks for some sun too, which will help. All and all, it looks like decent baseball weather for the Sox Home Opener with afternoon temps around 60.

Saturday, it’ll be very mild through midday, then an abrupt drop off in temps occurs in the afternoon as the numbers nose dive from near 70, back into the 40s. Plan on a chilly breeze at Fenway if you have tickets to the game.

Easter Sunday, the front moves back the other way, delivering milder air again.

It’ll be cooler again early next week. Lot’s of ups and downs this time of year!
