What isn’t an option though, is rain gear……we have–in quite some time—a completely dry weekend on tap! Yahoo! High Pressure is with us yet again to provide ample sunshine both weekend days and with the location of that High Pressure—to our west–plan on low humidity and seasonably warm temps, 70s & low 80s. Beach weather will offer temps near 70 tomorrow and low to mid 70s on Sunday. While this likely sounds *too cool* for the beaches–trust me—when you are on the sand exposed to that direct June sunshine, it will feel about ten degrees warmer! Those water temps are still early summer mode though, running in the low 60s and there ain’t nothing that strong June sunshine can do about that (give it 2 months tho!). Just about ideal for any outdoor activity planned this weekend.

It’s Friday evening in June so there is no way I’m picking up the pom-poms and cheering for rain but we do need some. Since early April, most cities & towns are running about 3-5″ below normal. This type of pattern is incapable or producing that kind of rain, rather, only a cool front slated for Tuesday of next week will bring us some rain and even that looks like & scattered. Sidebar—have you noticed some of the foliage appear to look like it did about 6 weeks ago? many of the trees are getting their leaves stripped by the Gypsy Moths. The reason being is a fungus (Entomophaga maimaiga fungus) that normally keeps them in check hasn’t been growing because of the very dry conditions. Less leaves to rake but Fall Foliage will take a hit in some spots.

Enjoy your weekend—-forget a new tie, call the old man & chat with him for a bit.
