Blah… 60s and clouds over the weekend as temperatures were about as cool as it gets for this time of year. In fact, the 65 on Saturday in Boston tied for the coolest July 9th high temp on record and Sunday’s 64 was only 1 degree shy of July 10th’s record cool high temp. I’d say at least we needed the rainfall, but the pattern overall was more of a cloud producer than rain producer, although we did catch a few showers and patches of drizzle.

After the tough weekend, not point of dwelling on the past…. we’re on to Cincinnati. Well, at least the warmer air mass out near Cincinnati and through much of the Midwest and mid-Atlantic will be moving in. That means summer stages a big time comeback as our weekend 60s transition to 80s and 90s by midweek. To get there, we’ll call today transition day. Low clouds, and even a patch of drizzle or a few sprinkles this morning will yield to partly to mostly sunny skies and temps in the lower 70s at the coast to near 80 inland by this afternoon.

With winds turning southwest tomorrow and holding either south or southwest through the week, not only does the heat build in, the humidity follows suit with dewpoints approaching 70 by Thursday. Sticky stuff for sure. Once again, I don’t expect much rain this week, however, but Friday and Saturday a front meandering through the area could spark some scattered showers and storms. Plenty of time to watch for that.
