Haha…let me explain myself. The rain is coming for Sunday–whether I root for it or not but since it is going to happen…why not embrace it?! Since January 1st, Boston has picked up just over 16″ of precipitation while Worcester has received just under 16″ of precipitation (rain and melted snow). Both cities (and many more in southern New England) are running rainfall deficits. Boston is down ~2″ of rain while Worcester is down close to 4″ of rain….while we won’t see this much rain on Sunday, we will see upwards of 1″ and that’s not isolated, I’m talking widespread rain. This type of rain  doesn’t happen between June-September unless it’s a tropical system and let’s not root for one of those.  It’s good to get this amount of rain for everyone before the summertime heat takes hold for good.  As of now, it looks like the rain arrives midday Sunday so there may be a few dry hours Sunday Morning for outdoor activities but otherwise, it’s rainy.

So, obviously, tomorrow is looking like the better of the two weekend days with High Pressure guarding the fort before the Sunday Soaker. That sunshine will give the temps a nice boost as most towns away from the ocean are near 80. Along the waters edge, plan on a sea breeze which will keep temps closer to 70. Just a great summer day. After Sunday’s rain, we are back into sunshine for a few days early next week with warm temps….both Monday & Tuesday offer temps near 80.

Have a great weekend–I’m rooting for ya!
