Add water to the morning commute, and Slow Go, is the name of the theme this early Tuesday. While most of the sky water is done falling by 10am, the rain is widespread this morning with very little chance of escaping some wet weather. In general, it’s a quick 0.25-0.50″ in the bucket. You’ll also note that it’s much warmer compared to that frosty start yesterday. Temps start in the upper 50s to 60s for most.

With the rain tapering off by mid to late morning, the afternoon will be a decent one with partial sunshine, brightest northwest of Boston, with highs running into the low to mid 70s. Thicker clouds will linger across Southeast Mass this afternoon, with additional midday showers possible along the south coast.

Tonight starts quiet, then finishes drizzly with patchy fog by daybreak tomorrow. From here on out, our damp and raw pattern begins. While Wednesday and Thursday don’t feature a lot of rain in terms of high rain totals (generally under 0.25″ total for most), breezy conditions with patches of drizzle and occasional light showers will certainly end our streak of pleasant weather.

Friday and Saturday, showers with heavier rain at times is possible before tapering back to isolated showers on Sunday. This upcoming pattern may bring up memories of the wet pattern we had in early May as May 1-8 picked up some water each day thanks to a chilly and moist onshore flow. Although it won’t be quite as chilly as then, as highs near 60 vs near 50 then. What remains to be seen is whether it’s one of those type patterns that produce only about 1″ of water through the week, or do we get into the heavier bursts of rain that can produce 2-3″ amounts and actually help out a bit with the deficit?

Anyway, have a good day!
