After a couple days of chillier weather, we welcome back mid May weather today with temps a good 10-12 degrees warmer today vs. yesterday. In addition, winds will gust 20-25mph today vs the 35-40mph of yesterday. Improvements overall for sure. While we’ll have partly sunny skies through much of the day, clouds may win the battle at times this afternoon with just a spot light shower or sprinkle for some towns. It’s nothing that’ll rearrange those tee times or ball games, so keep those outdoor activities planned. You’ll be able to fire up the grill too. Highs today near 70 which is close to the upper 60s we average this time of year.
A few showers may skirt the south coast of New England tonight and early tomorrow morning, and while an isolated sprinkle or brief shower is possible Wednesday, much of the time will be dry. It’ll be a bit cooler Wednesday. Low 60s coast, upper 60s inland with cloudy to partly sunny skies.
The warmest weather arrives Friday and Saturday, mid 70s. While the weekend starts dry, it’ll be a close call with a storm to our Saturday night and Sunday morning. If it’s track is a bit farther north, then we’re talking rain for that time frame. Right now, the best chance for showers then looks to be south of the Pike. Stay tuned on that one!
