The race will again serve as the second race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup, where it functions as a stepping stone for aspiring champions. The playoff-style NASCAR Chase Grid will feature 16 championship hopefuls in the second race of the Challenger (First) Round of the Chase.
In addition to Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race, the Camping World Truck Series, Whelen Modified Tour and American-Canadian Tour will run a tripleheader on Saturday, Sept. 24.
