The United States has defeated Italy to bring home the bronze medal in the men’s team foil.

Backed by top ten fencers Alexander Massialas and Gerek Meinhardt and #12 ranked Race Imboden and #15 Miles Chamley-Watson, the U.S. avenged their loss to the Italians in London winning 45-31.

The foursome have broken an 84-year-old record, earning the U.S. its first medal in the team foil event since the 1932 games where they also won bronze.

This is the U.S.’ fourth medal in the event. They now have three bronze medals and one silver.
