A woman in Hyannis got a slithery surprise in her bathroom Monday morning.
Barnstable police responding to an apartment complex on Stevens Street found a 16-inch snake in the sink.
Officers said that it appears the snake escaped from another apartment in the building and found it’s way into the plumbing.
Officers collected the snake and brought it back to the Barnstable Department of Natural Resources, where its owner later came to claim it.
