LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - Emergency crews are on scene after a report of two children in a pool in Lowell.

Police said two preschool age children were unresponsive and pulled from an above ground pool at a home on Freda Lane.

Investigators said there was a party at the home.

Neighbors told 7News that the children were guests at the birthday party.

One woman said she and man, who are both nurses, ran over after hearing calls for help.

The witness told 7News the man managed to revive the little girl, and they could hear her crying.

According to the witness, the little boy was unresponsive as emergency crews arrived.

Both children were flown to Boston hospitals in critical condition.

Details surrounding what happened leading up the incident remain unclear.

Officers spent the night talking to people who were at the party and barricaded the area around the pool and bounce house in the backyard.
