NORTH HERO, Vt. (AP) — Police in Vermont say authorities are investigating a house fire that killed two people in North Hero.

Vermont State Police says the fire happened in the early morning hours of Saturday at a single-family home in the tiny northwestern Vermont town. Police say two residents of the home died.

Police haven’t identified the victims of the fire because they are still working to notify family members. A preliminary investigation shows the cause of the fire was not suspicious. However, the exact cause was still under investigation on Saturday morning.
