SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Police in Springfield, Massachusetts, have made an arrest in the fatal weekend shooting of a Florida man.
Sgt. John Delaney said Monday that 34-year-old Rafael Martinez faces murder and other charges in the Sunday morning shooting of Eddie Olivo, of Kissimmee, Florida.
The 36-year-old victim was found shot multiple times inside a car on the street where Martinez lives.
Police say the shooting was “not random in nature,” but did not disclose a motive.
Martinez was scheduled to be arraigned Monday. It could not immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.
The shooting was the city’s 11th homicide this year.
