NATICK, MASS. (WHDH) - The Natick Police Department is investigating after a child was struck by a car Wednesday morning.

The child suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Around 11:50 a.m., two cars approached Maple Street on Pond Street.

According to police, the first vehicle stopped at the crosswalk to allow pedestrians to walk across the street.

At the same time, a 38-year-old woman from Natick slammed on her breaks to prevent her car from hitting the first car. She then veered right, drove off the road and jumped the curb, hitting a 5-year-old boy.

The boy was transported to Boston Children’s Hospital.

No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
