An elderly woman is dead after drowning in a pond in Pembroke.
Police say the woman had Alzheimer’s and wandered off to a small pond behind her home Monday afternoon.
Family members had begun CPR when the fire department arrived.
She was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
