Scientists say five-second rule is no good

We’ve all called upon the five second rule after dropping something yummy on the ground.

Scientists at Rutgers University say bacteria actually contaminates food much faster.

They evaluated the transfer of bacteria from a variety of surfaces to different types of foods.

While longer exposure to dirty surfaces made the germs worse, contamination could occur in less than one second.
