NEWTON, MASS. (WHDH) - The husband of a woman killed in the Sweet Tomatoes crash earlier this year filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver.

The lawsuit was filed by an attorney representing Eleanor Miele’s husband. The suit claimed Bradford Casler, the driver, was negligent when he crashed into the pizza restaurant back in March.

The district attorney said Casler was speeding and ran a red light, hitting two other cars before he crashed into the packed restaurant around dinnertime. Miele and another man were killed and several others were injured.

Casler was officially charged in September. He faces two counts of motor vehicle homicide and one count of oeprating a vehicle to endanger.
