BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Police say a high school student was allegedly assaulted by a Leominster man in the Brockton High School parking lot.
Investigators told 7News, that a teenager was sexually assaulted in her high school parking lot while school was in session.
Brockton police said the young woman was assaulted by a 44-year-old man just after noon. The superintendent of schools said that the man was known to the teen and had come to school to pick her up.
The superintendent released a statement saying in part,
The victim is being supported by school counselors and staff. This is an isolated incident and at no time were other students at risk
The suspect has been placed under arrest.
He faces one count of rape.
He is expected to be in court on Monday morning.
