QUEENS, NEW YORK (NBC) — Thanksgiving is around the corner and that means it’s time to test out the new giant character balloons that will take flight in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The balloons were inflated Saturday morning in Queens for their outdoor test flights.

The new balloons include “Charlie Brown,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and Dreamworks’ Trolls “Felix the Cat.”

A new creation, called “Trixie the Bouncing Dog,” has accordion legs and is designed to bounce up and down along the route.

This year is the 90th anniversary of the parade and more then 50 million people nationwide are expected to tune in to watch the holiday tradition.
