BARNSTABLE, Mass. (WHDH) — A woman at a Hyannis tanning salon discovered a hidden camera pointed right at her naked body.

Police said there are two alleged victims they know of and there could be more.

Police said the suspect, 47-year-old Luis Macedo, admitted to using his cell phone to take videos of young women in their 20’s using the tanning beds.

He has been working with SunSational Tanning for about a year.

According to police, he would take cell phone videos in the tanning beds and the standing tanning room.

“So what he did was scraped off a little area about the size of a dime, then takes his cell phone. He sets the clock so he knows if you’re going to be in there for nine minutes, eight minutes or six minutes and that would allow him the time to do whatever he had to do,” said Sergeant Sean Sweeney, Barnstable Police Dept.

Just this weekend a 29-year-old woman noticed a camera in her tanning bed and got spooked, but didn’t think much of it. When she went back to the same tanning bed the next day she didn’t see the camera and thought it perhaps was in fact a camera.

She contacted police and they sent a plainclothes detective to the salon and they caught him in the act.

“He actually was outside of the store and took with his smart phone a picture of Mr. Macedo with his smart phone so we actually have a picture of Mr. Macedo and some video of him with the camera. We took that from outside the store,” said Sergeant Sweeney.

Macedo has been released on bail and will appear in court on Monday.
