A Medford woman faced a judge Thursday in connection with a complicated crime.
Police said Mary Kumar sold a fake car insurance policy to a Boxford woman.
They said when the victim got in an accident, Kumar went to great lengths to cover it up, including posing as the woman in court.
Kumar is facing several charges, and has been released on bail.
