ORLANDO (WHDH) — The city of Orlando said it will buy the Pulse nightclub, the site of one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history.

The city plans to turn the space into a memorial to the people killed in a mass shooting at the club back in June.

Forty-nine people were killed and 53 were injured at the club on June 12 after 29-year-old Omar Mateen opened fire. In a 911 call, Mateen pledged allegiance to ISIS.
