PETA offers BPD truck dairy-free frozen treats

BOSTON (WHDH) - Peta is trying to make a special summer donation to the Boston Police Department’s new ice cream truck.

The organization sent a letter to Commissioner Evans, offering to donate $1,000 worth of vegan ice cream to allow officers to hand out treats to residents who don’t eat dairy products.

In a statement PETA’s president said, “PETA hopes the Boston Police Department scoops up this sweet deal to help residents beat the heat and their odds for developing heart disease.”
