BOSTON (WHDH) - A woman was injured in a shooting in Dorchester Friday evening, according to Boston police.

Police said officers responded to a report of a person shot on Washington Street in Dorchester shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The shooting happened in front of the Freedom in Christ Ministry.

According to police, a woman in her late 40s was grazed by a bullet, and was taken to Boston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses said the woman was leaving church when the bullet grazed her forehead, but she was not the target of the gunfire.
