TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Police are investigating multiple vehicle fires in a Massachusetts town along the New Hampshire state line.

Tyngsborough Police Chief Richard Howe said the department began receiving 911 calls about the fires at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

A fire burned two scooters in the driveway of a home then spread to two other vehicles. Minutes later, Howe says police received three more calls reporting vehicle fires in the driveways of other homes.

A total of 10 vehicles and one home were damaged in a roughly half hour span.

Police aren’t sure what sparked those flames but they say it is unusual for so many fires to happen so close together.

Howe said local and state police, as well as the state fire marshal’s office are investigating.
