NORTHAMPTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Police in Northampton landed a significant drug bust that took more than 1,600 bags of heroin off the streets.
Officers working to crack a human trafficking operation noticed suspicious activity and stopped to investigate the incident.
During the investigation, the officers arrested a suspect carrying 1,642 bags of heroin.
The suspect was charged with heroin trafficking, possession with intent to distribute, and disorderly conduct.
Officials say a conservative estimate would be roughly $8,200.
