MATTAPAN, Mass. (WHDH) — Police are searching for suspects after a 16-year-old boy was shot Friday evening in Mattapan.
The shooting happened on a bicycle path behind Ryan Playground on River Street at around 5:30 p.m. Because the bike path is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Conservation and Recreation, State Police are investigating.
The teen was shot once. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
Police towed away a car that was parked at a nearby gas station. Officials did not say how it was connected to the shooting.
