A man died on Thursday afternoon after he fell out of a tree bucket in Leominster.

According to Leominster Police, firefighters responded to Flaggler Road just before 3 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man who had fallen out of a tree bucket.

The man worked for an out-of-town tree service.

The property owner, Dennis Owen, said the tree was in danger of falling, which is why they called the tree company to take it down in the first place.

Police said the worker had taken off all the branches and was cutting the top of the tree when he fell 50 feet to the ground.

The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His name has not been released.
