FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - New England had its first look at Patriots rookie quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, when Jimmy Garoppolo went down with an injury Sunday afternoon against the Dolphins.

Most Pats fans, however, know little or nothing about Brisett.

“I didn’t think I’d have to learn his name,” said one Patriots fan.

Patriots’ offensive lineman, Joe Thuney, said Brissett was a “really hardworking guy.”

The two were teammates at NC State. Thuney is also a rookie.

Many fans have been talking about Garoppolo’s unbelievable start against the Dolphins.

Fans said it was devastating to watch the quarterback go down with the injury.

Despite the injury, many fans said they’re still confident the team can power through under the Bill Belichick system.

“I think with Belichick coaching, you know, he’ll, I think he’ll do his job,” said Margaret Fries, a Pats fan.

She also said she had faith in the Patriots.

“…I think everybody learns our system and they do well with it,” said Hank Raymond, a Pats fan.

Belichick said Brissett showed good poise and good decision making under pressure in his weekly conference call.

The Patriots will play the Texans on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium.
