Dozens of cyclists gathered in Newton Friday morning for the start of the tri-state trek, the ride to end ALS.

It’s a three-day, 270-mile ride to help raise support for people with ALS.

Among the teams riding are Team Frate Train, in honor of Pete Frates, the founder of the ice bucket challenge.

The ride starts at Boston College, where Frates is an alum, and ends in Greenwich, Connecticut.
