Police arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a domestic disturbance after a gunshot was reported by a witness in Epping, New Hampshire.

Police searched for 25-year-old Christopher Lemear, of Epping, throughout the morning on Tuesday after he was last seen just after midnight. Initially, police said they got a 911 call late Monday about a domestic disturbance. In the background of the call, a gunshot was heard. Police said Lemear is a convicted sex offender and is not allowed to have a gun.

Lemear was considered armed and dangerous and SWAT teams were called in to help search for him. After 12 hours, Lemear was captured after he was found standing on the side of the road. He was placed under arrest without incident.

He is being charged with illegal gun possession and reckless conduct.

He is due in court Thursday.
