‘The Voice’ contestant from Dorchester ready for next step

LOS ANGELES (WHDH) — A local contestant on “The Voice” will be taking the stage once again Monday with the rest of the Top 11.

Courtney Harrell, a songwriter and music teacher from Dorchester, is one of three singers left on Blake Shelton’s team. Last week, she wowed the judges and audience with her rendition of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing.” Harrell said she is still in shock that she moved on to the next round.

“I am in awe,” said Harrell. “For some reason, I was ready to go home. And I am in awe. I can’t believe it.”

The Top 11 take the stage on “The Voice” Monday at 8 p.m. on 7NBC.
