One person was killed after a car crashed on Route 101 westbound in Candia, New Hampshire early Sunday morning.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the area of Exit 3.

Police said a witness saw the car traveling westbound when it suddenly drove to the right, leaving the roadway. The car went up in the air and then came to rest on its roof in a wooded area.

The driver was killed in the crash, and there were no other passengers in the car. The driver’s identity has not yet been released.

The right lane and breakdown lane were closed for two hours as a result of the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
