HOLBROOK, MASS. (WHDH) - Four people are recovering after a mobile home went up in flames overnight in Holbrook.
One neighbor said it started with a huge boom.
“I heard a loud explosion,” said neighbor Brett Willian Wright, who added that whatever happened woke him up. “I looked out and the whole house was engulfed in flames, really bad. It went up really fast. It melted the side of my house really good.”
Fire crews rushed in to battle the flames and keep the fire from spreading.
One first responder carried a child away from the scene.
In the chaos, cars and nearby homes were damaged.
For the people living just feet away, it was a terrifying sight.
“Unbelievable,” Wright said. “Very fast.”
Now, the mobile home on Medallion Road is gutted.
Investigators said the fire started around the front porch.
The people taken to the hospital suffered from smoke inhalation but the state fire marshal’s office said they’re all expected to be okay.
