BOSTON (WHDH) - The Animal Rescue League of Boston saved a cat stuck in a precarious situation in Roxbury.

ARL Field Services received a hotline call about a cat trapped in a drain along 12 Cleaves Street Thursday.

When an ARL agent arrived on scene they heard the cat meowing loudly.

The agent recovered the cat, who welcomed his escape from the drain, and secured him before transporting him to the Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center for a veterinary exam and was found to be in good health.

The ARL said that the cat is going by “Louie” in his temporary home at the ARL’S Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center and is approximately 5 years old.

The ARL said that, due to Louie’s friendliness, he may be missing from a home and are asking anyone who may recognize him to call ARL’S Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center.
