ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WHDH) – Fire officials are investigating what started a fire aboard several parked school buses Saturday night.

Some of the buses were destroyed by the flames that started just after 11 p.m.

Two of the buses received extensive damage, nothing left but a shell.

Another bus now has a cracked windshield and a fourth has some minor damage.

Officials are calling the fire suspicious in nature because of where and when it happened.

The buses were parked at the Pleasant Auto Center in Attleborough, where the buses are kept when they’re not in use.

The owner of the property, Cindy Karol, thinks that it could be the work of vandals.

"That would be my first thought which is very concerning that someone would do something like that,” said Karol.

The bus company has plenty of buses, so there will be no impact for school on Monday.
